Saturday- We went to the storage unit and brought back 4 boxes of picture albums. We spent the afternoon sorting pictures. Some we took out of the album pages. Some of them stayed on the pages. I had albums from 2004 to 2011 that I had scrapbooked, so those pages are going to be copied. We have a big pile, and 3 more boxes to go!
We also went to the library and picked up books on California to prepare for our summer trip.
In the evening we went to the holiday Square Dancing party. There was a lot of food! We had a great time, dancing for 3 hours this evening. We counted down to 10 PM ( okay that is midnight on the east coast, AND of course it was the 30th, not the 31st. It’s the thought that counts!) LOL
Sunday- I woke up with a cold. I think from the Square Dancing on Thursday. They had taken up the hand sanitizer early that evening. So it was a quiet day at home. We did our usual laundry and budgeting. We watched the last Redskin game of the season.
Needless to say, I took a 2 hour nap. We stayed in all day.
Monday- Happy New Year! I felt sicker this morning. Bob is still okay. We watched the Rose Parade, looking for friends who were there and had volunteered with one of the floats. It was another quiet day at home.
Tuesday- Karlie has been having an issue while on the estrogen, so we took her to the Vets at 10 AM. We stopped at CVS on the way and I picked up face masks, as Bob had also come down with the cold this morning.
The mask did not work for him, so he stayed in the car with Roxie and I took Karlie in. The Vet made a change to her medication, and we returned home and went back to bed. We threw chicken noodle soup makings into the crock pot.
Wednesday- I had my card making class this morning with the Stamp’n Up lady. Karen was my guest so I went. Bob stayed home. I raced back for lunch. Then returned to play Mahjongg. I was not planning to play, just coordinate, but only 2 gals showed up. So I ended up playing. While I was gone, Bob took a nap. Also, the Doctor’s office called and changed Bob’s appointment from March to tomorrow at 10:15. This is for the BAHA, so we are excited.
We had a quiet evening at home.
Thursday- We dragged ourselves to the Doctor’s office, as neither of us feel very good. The first thing that happened is that they did another hearing test on Bob. Then we moved to an exam room. The Doc arrived and asked Bob about his history, then he put a headset on Bob.
The look on Bob’s face brought tears to my eyes. For the first time in his life he heard through his right ear. Now on to step 2!
Step 2 is an appointment with the office Clinical Audiologist. They scheduled him for Feb. 23. The gal was going to schedule him for March, but I explained that we were leaving April 1. So she found the Feb. 23rd date. We requested that he be put on a waiting list for earlier. So now we wait!
The audiologist will work with Bob on deciding which BAHA he wants and will work best for him.
We stopped for lunch, then went to our Endocrinology appointments with the new doctor. We both liked her a lot. I need blood work and Bob needs an Ultrasound of his thyroid. So we are going to get them scheduled. She also wants a mapping Ultrasound of my neck, but I want to wait until Medicare in the fall.
We returned to the MH and both collapsed and took a nap.
Friday- We ran to the grocery store and picked up a few items. Then we returned and both took another nap. Neither of us are up for much.
I had placed an article in the Paradise newsletter about the Square Dancing classes starting this evening and I had 4 couples call. So I called the gal who runs the Square Dancing and told her that Bob and I would not be there, but that we had 4 couples who may show up.
We stayed home and ate the leftovers.
