Saturday- I was alone on the floor and it was very busy. We have been so short of staff and the patients have been so sick this year, that it has been much harder at work. Last year I had a few bad days, this year, more bad than good!
Of course, today I was late getting out of work. I had an upset family member who went off. Because he looked threatening and was so loud, the staff called a ‘Code Gray”. As I was standing listening to this individual, I could see in my peripheral vision security arrive. They stayed back, not wanting to escalate the situation. Tammy, the supervisor arrived. She and I ended up calming down the family member. Of course, this all happened just before I had to leave. I had to stop and chart what occurred, so I got out late.
Bob was there to pick me up and we had to rush home, as MaryAnne and Ray were picking Bob up to go out into the desert to star watch with the Astronomy club at 5 PM. MaryAnne and Ray have a new telescope and they were able to see a lot. Bob said there was another guy there with an 8” diameter telescope and Bob was able to see the rings around Jupiter. He really enjoyed the evening.
I stayed home and read with the dogs on my lap! Bob arrived home at a little past 9.
Sunday- Heidi was with me and also on 3W, the overflow for the OBS. We split the number of patients so it was a pretty nice day.
Monday- The weather has been awesome! Bright blue skies, no clouds, temps in the 70’s during the day and in the 50”s at night.
Polly was with me at work, and it was a quiet day. We had a nice dinner and watched TV, read our books, and played with our tablets. A typical evening.
Tuesday- I was out the door to Mahjongg in the morning. Bob was just finishing up with some door cleaning when I returned. We left and went to lunch at Panda Express then stopped at Michaels and Office Max, picked up books at the library, and returned home. I tried to take a nap, but could not fall asleep. Bob snoozed for about 30 minutes.
We went to dinner early this evening with Mike/Linda, Judy/Fred, and MaryAnne. Ray plays in pool tournaments on Tuesday evenings. We went to Valle Luna for the senior night . They do not do reservations on senior night, so we went early. We had a nice dinner. Paula and Charlie did not go with us because Paula had her last chemo on Friday and it knocked her out. She has been really sick this time.
I had a promotion for Redbox, so we stopped in and picked up Gone Girl at the Redbox in front of Fry’s on Union Hills. Good movie!
Wednesday- I had my hair appointment in the morning. I picked Bob up and we returned to Vision Works. This time I had the nice German lady we had last year, and she fixed my glasses. Now they are fine!
We stopped for sandwiches at Which Wick. We ran into JoAnnes where Bob found another clock for our cabinet. We only needed the numbers, but we have not been able to purchase numbers in gold online or anywhere else. So we bought the whole clock, using one of my 40% off coupons, only $5.
We returned and today I was able to take a nice 2 hour nap. Then I went to the nail gal to have my thumb re-done. I have very thin nails and one has been split for months. The gal had put glue on two times ago, and when she did the nails last week she told me if this did not hold, to call her. It came off on Saturday, but this was the first time that I was able to get in to have a repair.
We ate dinner, watched TV and went to bed.
Thursday- Polly was with me so it was a nice day at work with two of us there. The usual evening, I fell asleep in the recliner. Bob had finally finished the living room and was moving on to the hallway.
Friday- Patricia was with me. This was her last day. She is having neck surgery on Tuesday morning. I am sad to see her leave, as she will not be back before I leave. We had a nice day. It was busy in the morning, but once everything is set up, it quiets down.
