We left the RV park at 9:30, driving south about 4 miles. We turned west on Hwy. 16, to drive approximately 150 miles to Prince Rupert. Wayne stopped for diesel at the Petro Canada at the corner, $1.35/L. Soon after turning west, we started to notice the the clouds and fog were clearing. Eventually we had bright blue skies. We also noticed that the leaves on the trees had turned yellow.
We stopped at the Walmart in Terrace, a fairly large town of about 15,000 people. Since it was a regular Walmart, we only picked up some can goods. We also stopped for lunch at Boston Pizza. Margie and Wayne were able to park their 5th wheel in the parking lot, but we went to the street behind the restaurant and parked on the street.
Lunch was good. We all enjoy Boston Pizza. Margie and Bob had pizza, Wayne had a sandwich and I had the chicken quesadilla, which was full of chicken.
We continued went the rest of the way, turning left at the sign for Port Edward. Our destination was the RV park there. When we arrived, we were not impressed. I walked up to the office and they only had one site long enough. By this time, Bob had directed Wayne into the road in the park, as it was not very accommodating. So we had to drive through this very narrow road, up and around, then down again. Wayne was afraid that the steepness was not going to work for the 5th wheel, but they made it through.
We went back to Hwy. 16, and continued west, then south to Prince Rupert RV park. The previous park was a Passport America park, where we would have had FHU and paid $15, per night. Here it was $37 per night, and no TV.
We settled into our spot and had happy hour between the two RV’s. We ate dinner, then sat out again with Margie and Wayne. We finally started getting cold, so we went in and watched the DVD Lawless with Michael Caine and Demi Moore. Not impressed….
