Tuesday September 13- Travel day- Salt Lake City to Moeb UT

We thought we were going to be leaving early, but it did not work out that way. We ran over to the Lowes to buy a new blind for the bedroom. We had planned on doing this at some point, but since I broke the other one last night, we knew we would not be near a Lowes for over a week.

We drove out of Pony Express at 10:30, which is late for us. We took I-215, which is the beltway around Salt Lake City. Pony Express is located near the end of the road to the north. So we drove around the city, but when we entered  I-15 south, traffic became quite heavy. There was also a lot of construction. We turned southeast on Rt. 6/89. and we were both glad to be off I-15. Rt. 89 eventually went south and we continued on Rt. 6 until we turned east on I-70. We drove east about 30 miles, then turned south on Rt. 191 for 20 miles to Arch View RV Park. They are a Good Sam park, which saved us 10%. We have FHU 50 amp.; but the park is definitely not as nice as Pony Express.  The sites are closer together and the road and sites are dirt. The pool is  a joke. When I first saw it I thought it was the kiddy pool it was so small!

The temperature was in the high 80’s and sunny, so we had the air conditioner going. It only cooled off to the high 70’s by bedtime, so the air ran intermittently all night. The park advertises that it is located between Arches National Park and Canyonland National Park. It really is, as one is to the west and the other is to the east.

We grilled some salmon for dinner, watched a little TV and went to bed.
